Dr. Elaina Petrone
Dr. Elaina Petrone is originally from New England. She completed her undergraduate studies at Manhattan College, where she majored in Biology and minored in Chemistry. She then earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from the University of Pennsylvania. After graduation, Dr. Petrone completed a one-year internship in Small Animal Medicine and Surgery at Oradell Animal Hospital in Paramus, New Jersey. Dr. Petrone also attended the Academy of Veterinary Imaging in Dallas, Texas, where she completed the Small Animal Veterinary Ultrasound Imaging Program, further advancing her expertise in diagnostic imaging. In November 2020, Dr. Petrone purchased Long Branch Animal Hospital and has been committed to maintaining a high standard of compassionate, personalized veterinary care. In September 2025, she expanded her vision by acquiring Matawan Animal Hospital. Dr. Petrone is passionate about supporting and strengthening privately owned veterinary practices and believes in building strong, long-term relationships with clients and their pets. Dr. Petrone treats dogs, cats, rabbits, ferrets, guinea pigs, and other small mammals and pocket pets. Her professional interests include ultrasound, dentistry, dermatology, internal medicine, feline medicine, cardiology, and geriatric care. Outside of the hospital, Dr. Petrone enjoys traveling, reading, yoga, camping, and hiking. She loves spending time with her husband Mike, family, and friends, as well as her four pets: Milton and Max, her beloved Maltese dogs (her favorite breed), and her cats Scarlet and Gwen.
